Edged weapon recovered after woman injured in North York incident, man arrested

Police say a man has been arrested and a sharp weapon has been recovered after a stabbing in North York.

A woman has been injured in an incident in North York on Saturday.

It happened on Thwaite Avenue, which is north of Sheppard Avenue and east of Jane Street.

Toronto police said they were called to that area at 5:10 p.m. for reports of unknown trouble inside a residence.

There, officers found an adult female with serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital via emergency run by paramedics.

Police later described the victim’s injuries as non-life-threatening.

An adult male suspect has been arrested and an edged weapon has been recovered, they said.

Investigators say there are no outstanding suspects.
