Female pedestrian struck and seriously injured by vehicle in midtown Toronto

A female pedestrian is seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in midtown Toronto, police say.

The collision happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the area of Bathurst Street and Lonsmount Drive, south of the Cedarvale Ravine.

Toronto police say the driver remained on the scene, and the victim has been rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are unclear at this time.

Northbound on Bathurst Street from Claxton Boulevard is closed at this time. Police encourage drivers to consider alternate routes.
