A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after an early morning hit-and-run crash on Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway.

Police say officers responded to the collision near the Gardiner Expressway West and Spadina Avenue just before 5 a.m.

Paramedics tell CP24 they transported a 35-year-old woman in “serious but stable condition.”

Police said the driver and vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.

As a result, three left lanes of the westbound Gardiner Expressway are closed while the investigation continues.

Drivers are being asked to “consider alternate routes.”
