Driver flees after pedestrian seriously injured on Queen Street West

A pedestrian near Queen St. W and Shaw St. has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle who fled the scene. No road closures at this time.

A pedestrian is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene in Toronto’s west end Saturday morning.

Police say the collision happened at around 11 a.m. in the area of Queen Street West and Shaw Street.

The driver and vehicle failed to remain at the scene, officials said.

Emergency crews say the victim was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

As a result, eastbound Queen Street West is closed at Shaw Street while police investigate.

Drivers are being asked to “consider alternate routes” and expect delays in the area.
