The province has issued a restraining order against a performing arts school in Toronto, ordering it to “cease operating as a career college” immediately.
According to the province, Randolph College offered an “unapproved vocational program” from Feb. 1, 2026 and Aug. 28, 2026, collecting tuition fees during that time. For the 101-week program that was offered, the college, the province said, charged $13,710.
“The Business must immediately cease all activities that constitute operating a career college, including recruiting or enrolling students in vocational programs, delivering or offering vocational programs and charging or collecting tuition or other fees in respect of vocational programs,” the order read.
“Nothing in this Order prevents the business from carrying on lawful activities that do not constitute operating a career college within the meaning of the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.”
At the time of publication, Randolph College’s website was not operational. CP24 requested comment from the institution but has not yet received a response.
A cached version of its website billed the school as a “Toronto theatre school that empowers imaginative and energetic artists to find and use their authentic voices.” It noted that the program offers students the “highest level of professional theatre training, and a network of connections” opening up the possibility to further educational opportunities.
The order also noted that the “unregistered career college” must provide the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security with a “complete list” of students who paid for vocational training after Feb. 1, 2026.
“The Business is responsible for refunding all students who, after January 31, 2026, have paid the Business in full or in part, for vocational training in any program,” the notice added.
“The Business must immediately remove, discontinue, and cease all advertising and promotional materials relating to unapproved vocational programs.”
