UP Express closed all weekend long, service disruption on Line 2

Published:

The UP Express will be closed all weekend long while the TTC has announced service disruptions along Line 2 Bloor-Danforth.

Those taking the UP Express this weekend will have to make alternate travel plans, as the service is set to be closed all weekend.

In a statement, Metrolinx said that UP Express service will be suspended Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 due to planned construction.

GO buses will run directly between Union Station and Toronto Pearson International Airport’s Terminal 1 as a replacement service.

The GO bus service will not stop at Bloor, Mount Dennis or Weston stations.

On Friday, UP Express service from Pearson to Union Station will end at 11:39 p.m. The last train from Union Station to Pearson will depart at 11 p.m.

Delayed subway service

There is also delayed subway service on Line 2 this weekend.

A portion of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth will open later on Sunday because of planned infrastructure maintenance, the TTC said.

Subway service between St. George and Broadview stations will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday instead of the usual 8 a.m.

Shuttle buses will operate as a replacement service between the affected stations.
