Toronto police say a man is in custody and a female suspect is outstanding after a distraction theft targeting an elderly man in Toronto last month.
According to police, the victim was sitting on his porch in the area of Rockcliffe Boulevard and Alliance Avenue at around 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 30 when the incident occurred.
Police allege a male suspect pulled up in a white Chevrolet with a female passenger in the back of the vehicle.
“The female passenger lured the elderly victim off the porch to the vehicle and stole his jewelry, while replacing it with fake jewelry,” police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
Both suspects fled the area, police said.
The victim was not injured.
On Sept. 11, 22-year-old Roberto Carlos Ghiocel, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with robbery and participating in and contributing to a criminal organization.
A quantity of fake jewelry was seized after a search of a vehicle and residence, police said.

“The female suspect remains outstanding. There is no description of the female suspect available at this time,” the news release continued.
Police said they believe there are more victims.
A photo of the suspect and the items that were seized have now been released by investigators.
