Toronto police are searching for two suspects after alleged robbery in Scarborough where a fake gold chain was used to snatch a victim’s personal chain earlier this year.
In a news release, officers say they were called to the area of Ellesmere Road and Midland Avenue area at about 11 a.m. on June 26.
There, police allege the victim was walking through the parking lot of a commercial building when a woman called out from her vehicle and asked for directions.
A man then allegedly drove into the parking lot beside the victim and also asked for directions.
Police say the woman got out of her vehicle and placed a fake gold chain around the victim’s neck. While doing so, she allegedly ripped off the victim’s personal chain.
In surveillance video released by investigators can be seen fleeing the scene in separate vehicles with the victims chasing after them.
Investigators have identified the female suspect as 23-year-old Andreea Ispas, of Toronto, who is wanted for robbery.
She is described as about five-foot-five with a slim build and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black dress with white trim and white shoes.
The male suspect has not yet been identified.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward and contact police.
