Police have released video of two suspects as well as their vehicle and are asking for the public’s help following a murder in Bolton and an attempted homicide in Vaughan.
In the 21-second clip, a dark-coloured, four-door BMW sedan is seen driving on a residential street in Bolton, which is in the town of Caledon. Two males wearing dark clothing are then observed approaching the front of a light-coloured brick house and then appear to be running out of it short time later.
York Regional Police say they initially responded to a shooting on Nov. 12, 2020, at about 11:30 p.m., in the area of Steeles Avenue West in Vaughan.
Police say two individuals exited a white vehicle and shot a male, who was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment.
Just over two months later, on Jan. 18, 2021, at about 12:30 p.m., the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to another shooting near Harvest Moon Drive in Bolton.
Investigators allege two suspects entered a home and fired several shots at two occupants inside.
Witnesses described them to police as young males wearing medical-style masks and dark clothing.
Police say one of the victims in this shooting was also a victim of the aforementioned incident in Vaughan.
The suspects fled in an older, black, BMW 3-series sedan, police previously said.
At the scene, officers located one person suffering from a gunshot wound. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The second victim, identified by police as 65-year-old Giovanni Costa, of Bolton, was found deceased insde the dwelling.
On Jan. 27, 2022, Jordan Andall, of Scarborough, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
At that time, police also annouced a $50,000 reward for further information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Costa’s murder, which they previously said was a “targeted event.”
“Thanks to several public tips, investigators have identified new leads that are now being actively pursued in the homicide of Giovanni Costa,” Det. Insp. Steven Martell, of the OPP, said in an Oct. 16 news release.
“While one individual was arrested, efforts continue to locate two others captured in the released video. A $50,000 reward remains available, and we urge anyone with further information to come forward and help bring answers to Giovanni’s family.”
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with any further information is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
