Missing ‘vulnerable’ teen from Richmond Hill located following stepped up search

Police in York Region have located a missing 17-year-old girl following a stepped up search for her.

The teen, whom police considered a “vulnerable person,” was last seen on Monday shortly before 9:30 a.m. walking northbound on Yonge Street, on the east side of the street, near Devonsleigh Boulevard, which is just south of 19th Avenue in Richas been found.hmond Hill.

On Tuesday, at around 1:30 p.m., York Regional Police announced that the girl has been found.

Police were concerned for her wellbeing as she hadn’t been in contact with her family for more than 24 hours, which they said was “out of character.”

Several teams of officers were involved in the search, including members of the Canine and Air Support units, they said.

A command post was also set up in the parking lot of a church at 12125 Yonge St., near Stouffville Road.

Police are thanking the public for their assistance in locating this missing person.
