A federal offender known to frequent Newmarket is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his statutory release.
The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is asking the public for help locating Jeffrey Sparks, 67, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for a long list of offences.
Sparks has been convicted of possessing tools used for breaking and entering, and causing damage to property. He is also charged with having property valued at over $5,000 that was obtained through crime.
Other charges against Sparks include dangerous driving and fleeing from the police. He is also facing charges related to attempted serious crimes, breaking and entering with intent to commit serious crimes, and actually committing such offences.
Additional charges include theft of items worth less than $5,000, impaired driving, and refusing to provide a breath or blood sample when required. Sparks is further charged with assault using a weapon and stealing a motor vehicle.
He is described as Caucasian, five feet 11 inches tall, with grey hair and hazel eyes. Sparks has tattoos of a praying mantis and praying hands on his left forearm and arm.
He is also known to frequent Toronto, Newmarket, Oshawa, Durham Ontario, and Gatineau, Quebec.
The R.O.P.E. Squad asks anyone with information on Sparks’ whereabouts to contact the authorities or 911.
