A 53-year-old woman was charged in connection with an alleged incident at the Innisfil Santa Claus Parade on November 23.

A York Regional Police officer, 53, has been charged with dangerous driving following an incident that occurred at Innisfil’s Santa Claus parade in late November.

On Sat., Nov. 23, South Simcoe Police received a driving complaint after a grey Audi was denied access to the parade route along Innisfil Beach Road.

Authorities say the driver was unable to exit the nearby Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot, so they jumped a curb and allegedly drove through a pedestrian catwalk to leave the area.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

On Tuesday afternoon, a South Simcoe spokesperson told CTV News that a 53-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with dangerous driving following this incident.

A York Regional Police constable later confirmed via email that the woman was an officer from their detachment.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the court in mid-January.
