An Innisfil, Ont. man accused of attempted murder as part of a months-long investigation into alleged Toronto police officer corruption, appeared in a Newmarket courtroom Monday from jail.
Keajean Isaiah Doman, 23, is among at least 27 people including eight current and retired Toronto Police officers charged following an investigation by York Regional Police, dubbed Project South, into organized crime groups in the Greater Toronto Area.

Doman is allegedly tied to eight shootings from mid-August to early September in Vaughan, Brampton and London. York Regional police said a total of at least 125 shots had been fired, many caught on camera. Investigators said Doman was part of the plot to kill a correctional management officer at a home in Vaughan last summer.
Doman has been behind bars since September 2025 and faces two dozen charges including attempted murder, dangerous driving, and conspiracy to commit murder.
He is accused of working with Toronto Police officers that investigators believe illegally provided organized crime groups with confidential information as part of an international drug trafficking ring.

Among the officers charged, is recently retired Toronto Constable John Madeley Sr., of Barrie, and his 29-year-old son John Madeley Jr., who is accused of breach of trust and unauthorized use of a computer.
Madeley Sr. also faces gun charges. Police said in January 2026, Madeley was part of an illegal online gambling ring, using threats of violence to collect debts, with a man known as Thomas Phippard, who also went by the monicker Frank the Tank.
Madeley is scheduled to make his first appearance later this month. Doman is due back in court from jail in March. The allegations against the accused have not been tested in court.
