A pedestrian has been critically injured in a hit-and-run in Markham, York Regional Police say.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Denison Street and Featherstone Avenue, east of McCowan Road, at 3:41 p.m. for a collision.
Police say the pedestrian was crossing the intersection when she was struck by a vehicle.

The driver fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries, police say. She has been taken to a trauma centre.
The vehicle is believed to be a dark blue sedan with silver trim around its windows. Its last known direction is unknown.
The intersection was closed for several hours but has reopened.
