A Toronto man is facing more than a dozen charges after nine residences in Markham were broken into over the span of four months.

York Regional Police said the alleged break-and-enters occurred between Nov. 28, 2025, and March 20, 2026, during the evening hours.

The suspect allegedly forced his way into the homes that appeared to be unoccupied and targeted bedrooms where he looked for jewelry and designer items.

Police executed two search warrants on Tuesday in Toronto, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect, 39-year-old Neville Ricky Young.

He has been charged with six counts of break and enter commit, three counts of break and enter with intent and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police also identified the suspect vehicle as a black Infiniti G37.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and witnesses, as the suspect had been in the area of the break-ins without a mask.

Police said more charges could be laid and are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
