Police say they believe the same suspect is responsible for at least six gas station robberies in York Region over the last five days.
The most recent one occurred in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and McCowan Road in Markham shortly before 2:30 a.m.
Two hours before that, at around 12:20 a.m. in the area of Hillwood Street and McCowan Road in Markham, York Regional Police said a male suspect entered the another gas station, made threats and demanded cash.
The suspect fled the scene with a quantity of currency, police said.
The suspect is described as a six-foot-tall male with a thin build and was last seen wearing a grey toque, a dark shirt with a black long sleeve underneath, black pants, black gloves and grey footwear.
Police added the suspect was using a white shirt as a mask.
Investigators believe the suspect with the same matching description is responsible for the following robberies:
- A gas station in the area of Steeles Avenue and Dufferin Street in the City of Vaughan on March 29 at 8:15 p.m.
- A gas station near Highway 50 and Langstaff Road in Markham on March 28 at 7:15 p.m.
- A gas station in the area of 16th Avenue and Ninth Line in Markham on March 25 at 7:50 a.m.
- A gas station near Woodbine Avenue and Yorktech Drive in Markham on March 25 at 7:25 a.m.
- A money loan establishment in the area of Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive in Richmond Hill on March 24 at 11:30 a.m.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
