Police were called to a high school in Markham on Tuesday morning after a threatening phone call from Los Angeles was made for the second time this year.
York Regional Police attended Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School, near Bur Oak Avenue and Kennedy Road, just before 7:45 a.m. for reports of a swatting call.
Officers cleared the school and determined there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
Investigators told CP24 the school had received another threat from Los Angeles, Calif., on March 2, but did not provide further details.
Police said they are currently working with the school board, which placed the high school under lockdown.
Students have been moved to Beckett Farm Public School, 78 Beckett Ave., in the interim, though YRP said they will be returning to school soon.
At around 11 a.m., YRP said officers are clearing the scene and will remain at the school out of precaution as they continue to ivnestigation.
