Police are searching for at least three suspects who allegedly broke into a home in East Gwillimbury, Ont., and assaulted two people earlier this week.
It happened at around 1 a.m. on Monday, at a residence located in the area of Frederick Pearson Street and John Candy Drive.
York Regional Police said three suspects forced their way in, attacked two people inside of the home and fired a gun.
Police said the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They add that the injuries were not caused by the discharged firearm.
York police said the suspects took off in an awaiting dark-coloured sedan, driven by a fourth suspect.
Officers describe three suspects as male, wearing balaclavas and all black clothes. There is no description of the driver.
Investigators believe this is a targeted incident.
Police are asking anyone with additional information to call the YRP Hold Up Unit or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
