Three suspects sought by police following armed home invasion in Vaughan

Police are searching for three suspects after an armed home invasion in Vaughan early Thursday morning.

According to York Regional Police, at approximately 2:30 a.m., three suspects, one armed with a hatchet, forced their way into a home in the area of Martin Grove Road and Jackman Crescent.

Once inside, the suspects allegedly threatened the homeowners and demanded cash. They then fled with a quantity of jewelry, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Police have released the following descriptions of the suspect, who are believed to be between 17 and 19 years of age:

  • Suspect 1: Male, dark complexion, approximately six feet tall, wearing black-framed glasses, a blue surgical mask, a black Nike V-Tech hoodie, dark pants and dark gloves.
  • Suspect 2: Male, dark complexion, approximately five feet eight inches tall, wearing a ski mask, dark clothing and gloves, and carrying a hatchet with an orange handle.
  • Suspect 3: Male, light complexion, approximately five feet nine inches tall, with brown eyes, wearing a grey hoodie under a black zip-up jacket, dark pants and dark gloves.

Police say they believe the incident is isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
