Police are searching for three suspects after an armed home invasion in Vaughan early Thursday morning.
According to York Regional Police, at approximately 2:30 a.m., three suspects, one armed with a hatchet, forced their way into a home in the area of Martin Grove Road and Jackman Crescent.
Once inside, the suspects allegedly threatened the homeowners and demanded cash. They then fled with a quantity of jewelry, police said.
No injuries were reported.
Police have released the following descriptions of the suspect, who are believed to be between 17 and 19 years of age:
- Suspect 1: Male, dark complexion, approximately six feet tall, wearing black-framed glasses, a blue surgical mask, a black Nike V-Tech hoodie, dark pants and dark gloves.
- Suspect 2: Male, dark complexion, approximately five feet eight inches tall, wearing a ski mask, dark clothing and gloves, and carrying a hatchet with an orange handle.
- Suspect 3: Male, light complexion, approximately five feet nine inches tall, with brown eyes, wearing a grey hoodie under a black zip-up jacket, dark pants and dark gloves.
Police say they believe the incident is isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
