One person has been rushed to hospital following a single-vehicle collision in Vaughan along Highway 427.

Ontario provincial police say the northbound Highway 427 off-ramp connecting to Rutherford Road was shut down after a passenger vehicle crashed in the area.

It remains unclear what led up to the incident.

Police say one person was transported to hospital, adding that “the lone occupant of the passenger vehicle sustained non-life threatening or life altering injuries.”

Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

In an update posted shortly before 12 p.m., police confirmed roads had reopened in the area.
