Three elderly residents have now died in hospital just days after a fire broke out at a home in Markham and spread to other residences early Friday morning.
Emergency crews were initially called to the scene near Carleton and Kennedy roads just before 7 a.m. on June 5.
In an update to CP24 on Sunday, York regional police said that all three occupants who were taken to hospital after the fire have since died.
The victims have been identified as two women in their 70s and a man in his 80s.

Images from Chopper 24, on Friday showed flames spreading to at least one neighbouring home as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Multiple residences in the area were evacuated.
“When our crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke and fire from the first floor. One victim had been either removed by family members or had managed to self-evacuate,” Markham Fire Chief Chris Nearing previously told CP24.
He said two other occupants were removed from the home by firefighters and turned over to paramedics.

Police previously said two of the victims suffered serious injuries, while a third sustained minor injuries.
Police also said there is no indication at this time to indicate that the fire is suspicious. The cause has not yet been determined, though investigators are hoping to have more information in the coming days.
