York Regional Police have arrested a registered massage therapist wanted in connection with two separate sexual assaults in Aurora.
The first alleged sexual assault happened on April 4 at a wellness clinic in the area of Yonge Street and Edward Street.
According to police, the victim was sexually assaulted during a massage.
On April 8, a second victim was assaulted at the same wellness clinic, police said.
During the massage, the suspect allegedly began touching the victim “for a sexual purpose.”
On April 9, police arrested Augusto Oliveira Cunha, 52, of Newmarket.
He was initially charged with one count of sexual assault in connection with the incident on April 8.
On May 21, the victim, who was allegedly assaulted on April 4, came forward and reported the incident to police.
On June 4, Cunha was charged with one additional count of sexual assault.
Police say Cunha is known to be employed at several wellness clinics in Aurora and Newmarket.
Police believe there may be additional victims, and anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
