CP24’s Courtney Heels has the latest on the investigation into reported shots fired on King Rd. and Keele St.

York Regional Police are investigating after several shots were fired at a home in King City early Tuesday morning.

Police said shots rang out at the home, located on Curtis Crescent, near Keele Street and King Road, at around 2:15 a.m.

Several evidence markers could be seen at multiple locations outside the residence on Tuesday morning.

Police confirmed to CP24 that two people were in the home at the time and some bullets made it inside the residence. No injuries were reported.

Police say the believe the suspects showed up to the scene in a light-coloured SUV and fled in the vehicle after the shots were fired. Investigators noted that they believe multiple suspects are involved.

Given the number of shots that were fired at the residence, police say they believe the shooting was targeted. They added that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

“We don’t believe this to be random,” Const. James Dickson told reporters at the scene on Tuesday.

He added that the exact motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

Officers will be canvassing the area for witnesses and video footage.

“We really need the community’s help for these incidents,” Dickson said.

He said officers will be on scene throughout the day to collect evidence.
