Arson suspected in fire that ripped through Vaughan mansion: police

York Regional Police say a fire at a mansion in Vaughan is believed to be arson.

An overnight fire that gutted a mansion in Vaughan is now being investigated as arson, York Regional Police say.

The fire broke out at a home on Mizuno Crescent, located near Nashville and Huntington roads, at around 2:30 a.m.

Heavy flames could be seen throughout the structure as fire crews tried to contain the blaze.

At around 6 a.m., police confirmed that the fire has now been extinguished.

No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Police said the incident is being treated as arson and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) will investigate the cause, origin, and circumstances surrounding the fire.
