Police in York Region investigate two overnight shootings

York Regional Police responded to two overnight shooting incidents that saw homes in both Aurora and Markham damaged.

The first shooting occurred at around 1:45 a.m. in the area of Lee Avenue and Kennedy Road in Markham.

Police said unknown suspects fired gunshots into a residence and fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

A second shooting occurred near Wellington Street and MacDonald Drive in Aurora at around 3:40 a.m.

Police said suspects fired at a home and parked car in the area. No injuries were reported.

Police noted that they are investigating whether the two shootings are connected.
