Mississauga woman arrested in Calgary in connection with 2024 Richmond Hill homicide

A Mississauga woman who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the 2024 homicide of a 16-year-old boy in Richmond Hill has now been arrested in Calgary.

The victim, who was from Montreal, showed up at a local hospital with a stab wound at around 6 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2024 and was then pronounced dead a short time later.

Months later in October, 2024, police announced that they were looking for four suspects in connection with the homicide, including27-year-old Katherine Bergeron-Pinzarrone, of Mississauga.

In a news release issued on Wednesday, police confirmed that Bergeron-Pinzarrone was arrested in Calgary on July 9.

Bergeron-Pinzarrone has been charged with second-degree murder.

“Through the dedicated work of our Homicide Unit and our partnership with the BOLO Program and the Calgary Police Service, the suspect in this homicide investigation has been located and arrested,” Deputy Chief Ryan Hogan said in a statement.

“This arrest marks an important step in seeking justice for the victim and his family and reflects our ongoing commitment to holding those responsible for violent crime accountable.”
