Canada’s Wonderland is celebrating an “incredible milestone”: its one billionth rider.
The Vaughan amusement park, which is also celebrating its 45th anniversary season in 2026, shared the news on Thursday.
“Today, July 30, Annabelle S., Kim S., John S. and John Jr. of Kingston, ON became part of Canada’s Wonderland history when, at the Thunder Run coaster, Annabelle was welcomed as the park’s one billionth rider,” Canada’s Wonderland said in a news release.
President Christopher Mortensen made the announcement over the station’s speaker, Wonderland said in a blog post. Snoopy then greeted the family, which was presented with a Canada’s Wonderland prize package that included park merchandise and a ticket package for a return visit as well as Fast Lane Plus vouchers.
Canada’s Wonderland said this milestone is a “celebration of how much (the amusement park has) has grown over the years.”
Currently, there are 200 attractions, including 18 roller coasters, two children’s areas, and a water park.
“Reaching one billion riders is an incredible moment in Canada’s Wonderland’s history. For more than four decades, our guests have trusted us to be part of their family traditions and most memorable moments,” Mortensen said in a release.
“We’re grateful to everyone who has visited the park over the years, and we’re excited to continue creating unforgettable experiences for generations to come.”
Dragon Fyre, which is made of steel and is one of the park’s original four rollercoasters, has seen the most overall riders, totalling 45.7 million since the park opened. Canada’s Wonderland said.
Coming in second is Thunder Run, which first opened in 1986 as Blauer Enzian in the International Festival but is now housed at Wonder Mountain. It has welcomed 36.6 million riders.
When it comes to the most riders in one season, Behemoth, Leviathan, and Yukon Striker topped the list in 2025, with 1.35 million, 1.48 million and 1.28 million riders respectively, while Psyclone is the top flat ride. It welcomed 550,000 riders during that time frame.
