York Regional Police are searching for multiple suspects after they say a person was shot during a suspected home invasion in Richmond Hill Monday morning.
Officials say officers and other emergency crews responded to a residence in the Yonge Street and Weldrick Road West area at about 7 a.m.
A victim was found suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police say the shooting appears to have occurred during a home invasion, adding that more than one suspect is believed to have been involved.
Officials say the suspects fled the area before police arrived and that they will be canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and video footage.
Police are asking residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
