Toronto police have charged a man in connection with a human trafficking and prostitution investigation.

Police say that between Dec. 13 and Dec. 22, two sex trade workers were exploited by a man who controlled their movements, took their money and withheld personal documents.

The victims were also forced to prostitute themselves for the man, before escaping his control on Dec. 22.

A suspect, identified by police as 28-year-old Tyrone Burton, faces charges including two count of trafficking in persons, two counts of exercising control and two counts of living on the avails of prostitution.

He was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Police believe there may be more victims.
