A shooting at a condominium building on Toronto's waterfront ended with the victim and suspect being sent to the same hospital early Friday.

The shooting victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg inside an elevator, while the suspect suffered minor injuries after crashing a motorcycle while fleeing the scene shortly after 3 a.m., Toronto police told CP24.

Police said the ordeal began when the victim and suspect, who are known to each other, returned to the condo building on Queens Quay, near Lower Simcoe Street, after a night out.

At some point, the pair got into a dispute of some kind and the victim was shot in the leg.

The condo's concierge called police as the armed suspect ran out of the building and hopped on a motorcycle before officers arrived.

The concierge wasn't injured, but the shooting victim was taken to St. Michael's Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Police initially said the concierge was shot in the leg, but corrected the information after further investigation.

Suspect crashes in parking lot

The suspect fled on the motorcycle, while the rest of the group went into a suite inside the condo building. While fleeing on a motorcycle, the suspect crashed in a parking lot near Cherry Street and Unwin Avenue, where he was taken into custody by police.

The suspect was also taken to St. Michael's Hospital, where he was treated for superficial injuries.

Charges are pending.
