A man in his 20s is in hospital after he was shot near Queen Street East and Kingston Road in the city's east end Monday night.

Officials say the man's injuries are life-threatening. He remained in critical condition in hospital late Monday and reportedly being shot multiple times.

The shooting occurred at about 7:45 p.m.

Toronto Police Service's emergency task force was dispatched to the scene.

Part of Kingston Road is closed until further notice as police conduct an investigation.

The man was one of two shooting victims in Toronto on Monday.

Earlier Monday, Clifenton Ford, 38, became the city's 17th homicide victim when he was gunned down at G's Chill and Grill Sports Bar, at 2528 Eglinton Ave. E., in Scarborough. No one has been charged.
