A 29-year-old man who allegedly stabbed another man to death at a North York restaurant last weekend is in custody, Toronto police announced Tuesday.

Police say Simeon Dewhite Minott surrendered to officers at 31 Division at 2 p.m., a day after investigators issued a public appeal for tips to locate him.

Minott is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Omar Baldwin.

Baldwin, 29, was stabbed at a restaurant near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West on Saturday.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, police say.

Minott, meanwhile, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
