An abandoned barn on Mississauga Road and Steeles Avenue north of Highway 407, was engulfed in flames late Tuesday afternoon.
Smoke poured from the ruins after firefighters managed to put out the flames. Fire officials say the barn was empty when the blaze began.
But there were some tense moments when nearby grass caught on fire.
The barn was being levelled to make room for new homes. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
