As Katelynn Sampson's family prepares to bury their little girl, a memorial is quickly taking over the sidewalk outside her mother's apartment building.

Mourners have been leaving flowers, candles and other items on the ground outside Bernice Sampson's apartment since the seven-year-old's body was found on Sunday.

Katelynn's funeral has been set for Tuesday at Parkdale Presbyterian Church on Queen Street West.

Sampson's body was found on Sunday in the home of Donna Armstrong, her legal guardian. It was so badly injured that doctors have been forced delayed the release of her autopsy results numerous times to continue their investigation into her cause of death.

Armstrong and her boyfriend Warren Johnson have been charged with second-degree murder in the girl's death.

Johnson appeared in court on Thursday, where he faced jeers from Katelynn's friends and family before being remanded in custody. He was arrested Wednesday night, just days after Irving was charged. Both will be in court again next week.
