TORONTO - Toronto forward Colby Armstrong is likely done for the season after he broke his foot in the Maple Leafs' 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
Armstrong was hit in the foot by a Mike Lundin slapshot in the second period. He did not play in the third, and after the game Leafs coach Ron Wilson said Armstrong's season was probably over.
"It's been, unfortunately, one of those years for him, breaking things, a mysterious eye ailment, stuff like that," Wilson said. "There's not much we can do now. There are other people who have to fill in for him."
Armstrong missed time earlier this year with a finger injury and a scratched cornea after being sucker-punched in a game by former Atlanta Thrasher Ben Eager.
Eager was suspended four games for the punch.
