A Toronto actor featured in a series of beer commercials will be sentenced today after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
Robert Smith, who plays an enthusiastic Scottish beer drinker in commercials for Alexander Keith's beer, pleaded guilty to possessing hundreds of child pornography images in March.
Smith, 40, is likely to receive a one-year jail term, legal experts say.
Police found more than 1,000 electronic files including movies during a search of the actor's home in February.
Smith is married with two children.
