A 22-year-old Brampton man has been arrested and accused of passing himself off as an Ontario Provincial Police bailiff.

Police say Andrew Joseph was operating out of an office on Milvan Drive in Toronto and offered people repossessed vehicles. Money was collected, but no cars were delivered.

Victims were defrauded of a total of $73,000, police say.

Officers executed a search warrant of the suspect's Brampton home and found police paraphernalia, brass knuckles and imitation firearms.

Joseph is facing several charges including impersonating a peace officer, fraud, possession of dangerous weapons and uttering a threat.

The OPP says the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact the Toronto detachment at (416) 235-4981.
