The strike at York University may be over, but the province is waiting for the verdict today on two other labour contracts.

Ontario's correctional officers have wrapped up a ratification vote on their latest contract and the result could be known as early as this evening.

The province's secondary schools are also wrapping up their deals today, and Education Minister Kathleen Wynne says the majority of those contracts are already signed.

Correctional Services Minister Rick Bartolucci says he hopes that both sides will return to bargaining if the current offer is rejected.

The jail officials are bracing for a strike since union members are told they should reject the contract.

The guards are furious with proposed cutbacks to sick time - following a report from the province's auditor general that noted the workers used an average of 32.5 sick days in 2007.
