BRAMPTON - A funeral service was held this morning for a five-year-old boy who was struck and killed by a bolt of lightning in Brampton, Ont., two weeks ago.

The funeral for Kyus Caines was held at St. Anne's Church in Brampton.

The boy was carrying a metal scooter when he was struck by lightning at a soccer field.

Caines was airlifted to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he died several days later.

The boy's mother, 26-year-old Dulcineia Caines, and his three-year-old friend were also injured, but they are out of hospital and expected to make full recoveries.
