Cristina Tenaglia

CP24
Cristina Tenaglia, Remote Reporter/Host, CP24

Cristina Tenaglia puts her passion for live field reporting to work as Remote Reporter/Host for CP24 since July 2012.

Since joining the CP24 team, Tenaglia has covered high-profile stories such as the 2016 Tim Bosma murder trial, Mayor Rob Ford’s cancer diagnosis announcement, and the funeral for murdered soldier, Corporal Nathan Cirillo. She has also delivered live coverage from the Toronto flood in the summer of 2013, the July 2012 Danzig Street shooting in Scarborough, and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty’s resignation in October 2012.

While she thrives on big, breaking stories, Tenaglia also enjoys fun TV moments, like chatting with stars like Matthew McConaughey, Ryan Gosling, and Jennifer Aniston at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Joining CP24 marked a homecoming of sorts for Tenaglia, who worked out of Bell Media’s 299 Queen St. Headquarters from 2006-08 as a Researcher and Associate Producer for the Gemini-nominated and RTDNA-winning investigative news show SILVERMAN HELPS on CP24 (and CityNews). The investigative news team worked to solve hundreds of consumer-related cases for viewers each year.

In 2011, Tenaglia was the recipient of the RTDNA Canada President’s Fellowship, an award which allowed her to attend the acclaimed Poynter Institute for Journalism in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Tenaglia is an Honours graduate of Ryerson University's School of Radio and Television Arts. She enjoys continuing to learn about the changing world of journalism, and attends yearly news conferences including the RTDNA Canada National Conference, and the U.S Seminars for Investigative Reporters and Editors.

Tenaglia spends time mentoring students and young broadcasters, something she greatly enjoys. She supports is Gilda’s Club Toronto, a facility that provides free social and emotional support that benefits anyone living with cancer.

Living and working in Toronto, Tenaglia wishes she spoke Italian fluently, but is currently studying Arabic.

“The best part of the job is meeting all sorts of interesting people, from all walks of life, and having the opportunity to share their stories" she says.
