The top three candidates in the race to replace Rob Ford as mayor will take part in a CTV News Toronto debate next week.

Mayoral candidates Olivia Chow, Doug Ford and John Tory will take part in Toronto Debate 2014 – one of the last debates slated for the 2014 mayoral campaign – on Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Moderated by CTV News Toronto co-anchor Ken Shaw, the 90-minute event will be shown on CTV and will also be streamed online and simulcast on CP24.

Following the debate, CP24's Stephen LeDrew will host an expert panel discussion to deliver live reaction.

“With a broad cross-section of voters steering the content of the debate, viewers will have an opportunity to be part of the conversation with their next municipal leader,” Paul Rogers, senior vice-president at CTV Toronto, said.

“Our goal is to create an inclusive discussion, and help ensure voters are informed on the pressing everyday issues that affect Torontonians, by providing a platform for voters to have their voices heard.”

Toronto residents eager to be part of the debate are encouraged to send their questions via email here.

Viewers can also join CP24’s discussion of the debate using the hashtag #cp24vote.

The municipal election takes place Oct. 27.
