Police in St. Lucia say a Canadian man has been arrested in connection with the drowning death of a four-year-old boy.

Charges have not yet been laid and local police tell CTV News that they are still conducting an investigation.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is believed to be a medical student who was vacationing on the Caribbean island, police say.

According to a report from St. Lucia News Online, a man took the victim kite surfing on Sunday at the Bois Chadon beach near Coconut Bay Resort.

The boy fell into the water and could not be located, according to the article published Wednesday. His body was found early Tuesday morning on Coconut Bay Beach.
