A driver walked away with minor injuries after a car became lodged under a tractor-trailer during a spate of crashes that disrupted part of the morning commute.

Three crashes occurred in Highway 427’s northbound express lanes, north of the QEW, in a 30-minute span Friday morning, starting at about 5:50 a.m.

Ontario Provincial Police said the first crash occurred when the car became trapped under the tractor-trailer.

Despite the severity of the damage, the driver of the car escaped serious injury, a police spokesman told CP24.

As crews cleared the vehicles and crash debris, two other collisions occurred nearby, including one just north of the initial crash site.

A third crash occurred in the southbound express lanes.

No serious injuries were reported.
