It was a nice surprise for WorldPride participants Sunday night when a bright double rainbow appeared in the sky during the festival’s closing ceremony.

The rainbow coincidentally popped up shortly after the parade came to a close during a brief period of turbulent weather between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

“This rainbow appeared just after the storm passed through,” said CP24’s weather specialist Patricia Jaggernauth.

Reported sighting of the rainbow came from social media users from the west end of the city to East York.

“The timing couldn’t be more perfect. Even during the sunset, there was every single colour in the sky,” Jaggernauth said.

“A happy pride indeed.”
