Family and friends of a 17-year-old boy shot and killed at a highrise building in Etobicoke over the weekend are gathering Monday evening to remember the teen’s life.

Trevor Seraphine was fatally shot at a building on Willowridge Road early Saturday morning. Paramedics told CP24 the boy was shot multiple times in the torso.

He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he was pronounced dead.

Police have yet to provide a possible motive for the shooting.

Speaking with CP24, a friend of the family described the shooting as ‘senseless.’

“Trevor is a good kid – I don’t know why someone would do that to him,” Jackie Reider told CP24 outside the highrise late Monday afternoon.

According to Jackie, Trevor and his family lived in the building for several years before moving away due to the violence.

“This crime needs to stop. Right now (the kids) are not safe.”

The vigil was expected to begin at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, police released descriptions and a security camera image of two suspects, both males, sought in connection with Seraphine’s murder.

The first suspect is described as having brown skin. He was wearing track pants and a brown, hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect is described as black, with a receding hairline and short cropped hair. He was wearing a white sweatshirt and light pants.
