TYENDINAGA MOHAWK TERRITORY, Ont. -- Provincial police have charged an 18-year-old with trafficking after finding a live hand grenade while searching a home on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in eastern Ontario.

Investigators say they also found illegal drugs and a handgun during the search on Thursday.

Police say the teen, whose gender was not provided by police, has been charged with two counts of trafficking drugs and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

They're also charged with tampering with the serial number of a firearm and possession of explosives for an unlawful purpose.

The accused is set to appear in court early next year.
