HALIFAX - A man arrested following the disappearance of a Halifax university student is being held in custody until a bail hearing on Friday.

Twenty-five-year-old Blake Leggette was brought back to Halifax from Windsor, Ont., on Sunday to face charges of auto theft.

Defence lawyer John Black appeared on his behalf at a hearing today in Halifax provincial court.

Ontario Provincial Police arrested Leggette and 28-year-old Victoria Henneberry after officers found a car owned by 26-year-old Loretta Saunders last week near Windsor.

Halifax police say they plan to bring Henneberry back on the same arrest warrant by Thursday.

The judge said Leggette must not contact her while he remains in custody at a Halifax jail.

A provincial court document filed by Halifax police alleges the pair stole Saunders's 2000 Toyota Celica.

Saunders, a Saint Mary's University student, was last seen on the morning of Feb. 13 in the Cowie Hill Road area of Halifax.
