If the deal on The Brick website seemed too good to be true, that's because it was.

In a posting on its Facebook page, the widely known furniture and appliance chain said a technical glitch mistakenly gave customers an unintended discount on Christmas eve and Christmas day.

The Brick said online buyers got a 50 per cent discount on their purchases after the items were added to their online shopping cart and checked out.

However, the company says it will not honour those prices.

Instead, it has offered customers a credit equal to 10 per cent of the affected online price that can be put toward a future purchase.
