PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- Provincial police say two girls missing since Thursday morning in Bon Echo Provincial Park in eastern Ontario have been found.

Police say the southwestern Ontario sisters were found Friday evening and flown out by helicopter to be checked out by paramedics.

Thirteen-year-old Emma Kip and her sister Jenna, 16, were camping with their family in the park about 100 kilometres north of Belleville, Ont.

They went for a walk on Thursday morning and did not return to their campsite.

A provincial police helicopter and another from the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre at CFB Trenton were involved in the extensive search for the New Hamburg girls.
