LONDON, Ont. - Ontario's police watchdog is investigating the death of 28-year-old woman in London, Ont.

The Special Investigations Unit says London Police Service arrested the woman on the afternoon of Nov. 2 and lodged her in a cell.

They say the woman was found in medical distress at 9:45 a.m. the next morning.

The SIU says she was taken to hospital after naloxone was administered, but died on Nov. 13.

The watchdog says it was notified of the woman's hospitalization on the same day she went into distress, but the incident did not fall under its jurisdiction.

The SIU says it launched an investigation after learning new information several days later.
